Dreams for Ukraine

UkraineMrii is a programme designed for young Ukrainians to acquire skills in project leadership, teamwork, and idea development for the reconstruction and advancement of their home regions. The Ukrainian-Danish Youth House has implemented various iterations of the project in 2022 and 2023, including MykoMrii and KhersonMrii (Dreams for Mykolaiv and Dreams for Kherson). Over 150 young people participated in the online programme, with 50 engaging in a study trip to Denmark. Subsequent programmes such as KharkivMrii and OdesaMrii saw participation from over 140 individuals in the online sessions.

In December 2023, participants from all four cities convened at the Youth House in Kyiv for a significant MriiSummit, where they showcased their projects. Since the inception of the programme, seven youth initiatives have been established, and eight projects were completed in 2023, with more underway in the mentioned regions. The success of the project has motivated our partner, Ukrainian Leadership Academy, to continue engaging with young people in the Mykolaiv and Kharkiv regions, leading to the launch of the HromadaMrii project.
