Voices of Violence in Aarhus

“Voices of Violence” is a video exhibition that aims to create a space for reflection, dialogue, and discussion about the consequences of violence, harassment, and sexism – and, importantly, the right of victims to be heard. The exhibition consisted of 35 short video stories about real experiences of sexism, harassment, and gender-based violence, narrated by well-known Danish, Icelandic, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, and Belarusian actors. Meta Film produced the Danish contributions, collecting #MeToo stories from Danish women, while stories from Iceland, the Baltic countries, and Belarus were gathered in collaboration with local women’s crisis centres. “Voices of Violence” has been exhibited online and toured Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. In 2023 it opened in Aarhus, Denmark, on the International Women’s Day.
