EUROPEAN YOUTH CONSENSUS 2017
From the 10th to the 14th of September 2017 hundreds of young people from all over Europe gathered in Aarhus – the Capital of Culture – for a summit on rights and democracy. The event allowed youths to create sustainable networks while learning about and exploring cultural diversity and democracy in our globalized world. The main focus was on children and youths and their rights. The participants partook in various creative workshops on film, pictures, music, dance, drama, sustainability and creative reuse, art and design while exploring their voice in cultural and political Europe.
Culture Department of the City of Slupsk had chosen a group of 10 high school students to take part in this year’s European Youth Consensus. Slupsk is a medium-sized city in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, Northern Poland, known for its rapid development, wise management and socially engaged projects.
European Youth Consensus was organised by Aarhus Municipality – Department for Children and Young People and Aarhus’ Youth City Council, and the hope is that future Capitals of Culture will continue the concept.
