Financial Controller in Vilnius, Lithuania,

Danish Cultural Institute is looking for a Financial Controller to work on Civil society development / Cultural support project. The position is open in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 1 March, 2025 for a period of 36 months.
The Financial Controller will play a vital role in providing effective support to civil society organisations by financing their activities through grants. The Financial Controller will be responsible for ensuring accountability of funds, supporting grantees with financial procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and support to grant recipients:
- Manage financial flow, including fund transfers to grantees, payments, and forecasts.
- Provide guidance and training to grantees on financial procedures and reporting requirements.
- Verify financial reports submitted by grantees for compliance and accuracy.
- Monitor grantee financial activities, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
- Address financial queries and resolve challenges faced by grantees.
- Conduct spot checks and financial verifications as required.
- Maintain financial records and prepare regular financial status updates for Senior Financial controller and Project Manager.
Reporting:
- Prepare and submit financial reports for internal and donor use, ensuring timely and accurate information.
- Collaborate with external auditors, providing all required documentation.
- Contribute to the preparation of interim and final financial reports for submission to the donor.
- Support the Project Manager in financial planning and strategy adjustments based on project progress.
Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure all financial activities comply with donor regulations and internal procedures.
- Assist in preparing for audits, ensuring all financial documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
- Implement recommendations from audits and evaluations to improve financial systems.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial management, preferably with EU-funded projects.
- Proven experience in managing budgets, financial reporting, and audits.
- Strong knowledge of PRAG guidelines and EU financial regulations is an advantage.
- Experience supporting grantees or partners with financial management.
- Proficiency in financial management software and MS Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Fluency in English and understanding of Belarusian and Russian.
Offered Remuneration:
- Indicative monthly salary: Up to 3,000 Euro (gross amount).
