The Restoration Toolbox

’The Restoration Toolbox’ project aims to empower Indian citizens to protect and preserve their cultural heritage. It is an open-source digital platform that empowers citizens and communities to restore, reuse, and maintain local heritage buildings.

The platform guides citizens through the entire process from conceptualisation, design, financing, to implementation of a project. “The Restoration Toolbox” was created by a group of Indian and European experts in architecture, construction, heritage, engineering, digital technology, and citizen engagement. The project organised workshops, seminars, and conferences for Indian NGOs, authorities, and students. Danish Cultural Institute played a facilitating role in the project.
